The new interior of our restaurant in Palma: FORN 3.0

FORN, restaurant in Palma, is part of the cities living history. The capital of Mallorca has a small corner between the narrow streets of the district of la Lonja from which, in the 19th century, a single bakery supplied bread and other baked good to the people of the area. In 1992 it underwent a very significant change: this historic bakery became a highly regarded restaurant in the old town of Palma named Forn de Sant Joan, keeping the name of its roots and without losing its essence. Carlos and Christian Baqués, sons of the founder of this restaurant, Joan Baqués, took over this exciting project and from this April, Forn de Sant Joan will begin its third significant era: changing its image, philosophy, menu and name: we are now FORN. Would you like to know what appearance our restaurant in Palma de Mallorca has now? In this blog article we will be giving you an in-depth look at this subject.

The fusion between history and modernism at our restaurant in Palma

As well as the rich history of our restaurant in Palma de Mallorca, innovation is, perhaps, one of the characteristics which best defines this establishment. If we want to offer the most cutting edge and contemporary gastronomy on the island, we also need to change with the times. Which is why, this month we have been working to give ourselves a facelift and adapt to 2019 and with the ambition of continuing to receive recognition through our dishes. This is why we are taking on 2019 with a new corporate identity and design. Our logo, our colours and our ambition have an updated look which fits in with this new era. In continuation, you will see some snapshots taken of the interior of our restaurant in Palma de Mallorca following its renovation. Do you like how it has turned out?

The fusion between history and modernism at our restaurant in Palma

During this new era a warm environment was paramount. The soft light with a reddish tone merges with the wooden walls and ceiling. The designer lamps and chairs are also made from wood, which come together in every corner of the interior. For the tables a darker wood has been experimented with, which contrasts with the colours of the leather armchairs and that of the dishes. The exposed brick walls which have been with us from day one, still display the original utensils of the bakery, as well as their own ovens. Our restaurant in Palma de Mallorca continues to offer different spaces with different atmospheres but unifying its business design with a welcoming and modern style which we have adopted in our new image and logo.
